Sol, the key to a good LLUR chart is that the trend is consistent. If =
you look at APOL's chart on a daily basis, it looks a little choppy, =
with many ups and downs. So you are tempted to try to time it so you get =
in on a brief pullback. But look at its chart on a weekly basis, and the =
trend is quite apparent. It really didn't matter, so long as you are =
investing for the long term, if you picked it up on a pullback, or as it =
hit a new high, so long as you are not going to be upset if you spend a =
few days or even weeks with a small loss in case it pulls back =
immediately.

What you want to focus on is finding the trend line. The 50 dma often =
gives you this, but it can be almost any moving average line. For the =
short term traders / investors this becomes their entry point, but only =
as it it rising from this technical support line. For longer term =
investors who dislike ever having even a small loss, this works as well. =
The danger of trying to find the perfect entry point is that by the time =
it happens, several weeks may have passed, and its already 10 or 20% =
higher than when you first started watching it. So even if you had bot =
the high, and been patient for those several weeks, you would have been =
happy with it.

Q. where do you get in on a LLUR if you missed the initial BO ? (unless =
it sets up another base)=20

APOL has been carving a rather pretty LLUR chart for nearly 18 months =
now.
If you look at a weekly chart rather than a daily, it could turn many =
day
  traders into long term investors.

  All,

In general, the group to which APOL belongs has been moving up nicely =
for a
while, until a couple of days ago when DeVry announced it earnings =
outlook,
but what type of pattern, if any would you say APOL is carving?

  Thanks

  Mike
