amazing how both IBD and DGO seem to make the same mistakes when it comes to
retaining existing customers. I cannot believe in this market that they
could be adding new customers so easily as to ignore their existing customer
base.

Well the nail in the coffin for me with IBD.

I just got a notice that it will now be delivered by the Los Angeles Times
carrier instead of their own. Now, instead of arriving the night before as
it has it will now be delivered "no later than 6:00am". It went on to say if
I want to see it the night before, I can still go to the IBD site. Now the
site...well lets just say I have SDSL at work and it's still one of the
slower sites around.

classic capitalism, offend your existing customers and not only do you lose
them, but the many other new customers they might have sent your way. Build
a better mousetrap (chart service) and you gain not only someone else's
disgruntled customers, but also any discriminating subscribers that want
good service.

When it happens in a sophisticated group of our size, compounded by the many
other people we are in contact with via the net, then the failure of the
former, and the success of the latter, is often accelerated. May be time for
me to also find an alternative to DGO before my next renewal, who knows if
they will even still be around at the prices they charge.

Hi Nancy,

The great thing about capitalism is that when a company like DGO becomes big
brotheresque, lurking about a private email discussion list and sending
threatening letters to individual subscribers to their service, there are
always alternatives. As a result of the infamous FedEx letter, I have had
to remove all of my previous annotated DGO charts from the CANSLIM site.
Luckily, Mike Gibbons was willing to come to the rescue, offering to develop
a chart to my specifications. I'm pleased as punch with the results and now
have a far better tool that what I had with DGO. My next goal will be to
replace DGO altogether.

Katherine-thanks so much for still doing your charts. I was gone and
missed a lot, but know you had trouble with IBD and I was afraid you would
stop teaching with the charts. Glad to see you are continuing-it really
helps me a lot to understand chart reading. Thanks nancy

    Hi Mike,

I've marked a chart to show the pivot and formation on UNH at:

In today's IBD , in the real most active, they talk about UNH and how
is
closed just below the $97.99 pivot point, but looking at the daily
graph, I
don't see a day where it had a high of $97.89 and I am hard pressed to
call
it anything but a flat base. Any thoughts?
