This whole scenario is really interesting.
Here's a company, IBD, that teaches us to invest in companies with great
fundamentals. Fundamentals that rely solely on making money selling
goods and services to customers. And it doesn't take a genius to
understand that those with the strongest customer focus go on to new
heights. IBD, on the other hand, spends millions developing a pretty
decent product in DGO, but in their infinite wisdom, charge their
lawyers with the task of berating IBD's most loyal and strongest
customers (and promoters): Us!
I did the DGO trial late last year. Like many herein, I said when the
market turns, I'm going to subscribe. Well, I've changed my mind.
Through the efforts of people like Katherine and Mike Gibbons, we're
finding alternative ways to unearth the data we need.
All the lawyers I've ever known in my long marketing career were
clueless about the customer nurturing side of the equation. To them,
it's black or white. Someone at IBD needs to take note. I fully
understand the concept of intellectual property, copyrights, etc., and I
respect their goal to protect them. But their manner and
"black-or-white" orientation can only be described as totally self
defeating. And stupid.
Have a nice weekend...
Duke

Hi Nancy,
The great thing about capitalism is that when a company like DGO becomes
big brotheresque, lurking about a private email discussion list and
sending threatening letters to individual subscribers to their service,
there are always alternatives. As a result of the infamous FedEx
letter, I have had to remove all of my previous annotated DGO charts
from the CANSLIM site. Luckily, Mike Gibbons was willing to come to the
rescue, offering to develop a chart to my specifications. I'm pleased as
punch with the results and now have a far better tool that what I had
with DGO. My next goal will be to replace DGO altogether.

Katherine-thanks so much for still doing your charts. I was gone and
missed a lot, but know you had trouble with IBD and I was afraid you
would stop teaching with the charts. Glad to see you are continuing-it
really helps me a lot to understand chart reading. Thanks nancy

Subject: [CANSLIM] IBD question
In today's IBD , in the real most active, they talk about UNH and how is
closed just below the $97.99 pivot point, but looking at the daily
graph, I
don't see a day where it had a high of $97.89 and I am hard pressed to
call
it anything but a flat base. Any thoughts?
