I'm not Katherine, but might be able to help you get unsuck. If you downloaded one of the .xls files, use Microsoft Excel to open them. If you downloaded one of the .zip files, you'll need to use something to unzip them first. If you don't have software to unzip, I use Aladdin's freeware software on my both my windows and macintosh machines: http://www.stuffit.com/expander/index.html If you don't have Excel, Microsoft offers a viewer at: http://office.microsoft.com/downloads/2000/xlviewer.aspx I haven't tried it (I use Excel 2000), but according to MS, "The Microsoft Excel 97/2000 Viewer is recommended for use with a stand-alone computer that does not have Microsoft Excel installed. This product allows the user to open and view Excel 97 and Excel 2000 spreadsheet files." good luck - --Mona On Sunday, October 20, 2002, at 11:56 AM, Karen White wrote: > > > Morning Katherine...I downloaded the hunting list but the question > came up...what program do you want to use to open the file? This month I've also added links to Mike's cwhcharts for each stock which displays U/D volume, RS Rank, Comparative RS vs. SPX and more. If you'd like to look at last month's hunting list, you will find it at: <<http://WallStreet-LLC.com/canslim/CANSLIMHunting092002.xls>http://WallStreet-LLC.com/canslim/CANSLIMHunting092002.xls or <<http://WallStreet-LLC.com/canslim/CANSLIMHunting092002.zip>http://WallStreet-LLC.com/canslim/CANSLIMHunting092002.zip This month there are 371 names, up 39 names from the list I posted last month. This month, 102 names fell from the list, a whopping 230 new names came on board and 141 names are repeats. Since the rotation was pretty fierce, I've also included some summaries by sector to show you where the names fall. It's an encouraging sign that money seems to be flowing out of defensive names such as REITS (32% of names dropped were from this sector) and Mining (6% of names dropped) and into growth areas such as Healthcare (14% of names on this month's list). Retail, another common sector for CANSLIM growth candidates, is well represented with 9% of this month's names. With a follow-through day under our belts, decent action in recent breakouts and a list of hunting candidates composed of less defensive names, it's an encouraging sign that we may be in for an intermediate term rally of some consequence. It's still a jungle out there....be sure to honor all your buy *and* sell rules!!
