Katherine,
Thanks for the charts. On the days that you showed the gaps down, I think
it was in response to DeVry announcing that they has missed their earning,
and it seemed like the whole sector dropped in sympathy (Damn I hate when
that stuff happens!) , and I remember having that same "What the @$#%@^#$?"
feeling as I saw CECO and COCO drop.
Other than that, do you see any other price volume action that shows
warning signs?
At this point, do you start counting bases again and be out of the stocks
until another breakout occurs?
And for what it's worht, I did sell a portion of my COCO last week when it
was up 15% , so at least I got a little profit out.
Thanks

Hi Mike,
I never like a chart with an inexplicable gap down, even if action just
after the gap looks as though the stock is recovering. I call it the "IRF
Sell Rule." At one time I had a decent gain in IRF and the stock was
bucking an otherwise iffy market. One day it just gapped down. No news, no
downgrades, nothing. It recovered a bit the next day and I sold. Sure
enough about a week later it took a big plunge on earnings disappointment
and a lousy market backdrop. Whew....managed to lock in the gains *and*
avoided a big loss.

Yikes!
Can someone please explain what is happening to these stocks that have
broken out, and stayed above the pivot, but now have crashed hard? Only
thing I can find is that a number of places downgraded CECO even though
they announced that they beat there numbers for the 3rd quarter. Was
there
anything in the charts that would suggest this happening?
It is this type of swing that makes me sometimes want to just stuff the
mattress rather than investing in stocks......
