I always thought that the real benefit of IBD and DGO was the
fact that they made it easier to get at info. (I sure as heck don't
read IBD for the articles!!!!!) The data's out there in other forms,
I'm sure, but for someone who only has a limited amount of time
to learn and track this stuff, it's worth the dollars to at least get
the basic info all in one place... and then spend additional time
digging elsewhere for more detail. Trying to work through a steady diet of
WSJ, Fortune, Forbes, Barrons, BWeek, Economist, etc. pretty
much takes up the rest of my time anyway! ;-)

I am with you John. I subscribe to IBD and DGO because they take all of
the labor out of the screening process for both fundamental and Technical
evaluations. When I find a small group of stocks that I like I can go
elsewhere for more information if I wish. There may be cheaper ways to
approach the process but I don't know of another system that identifies
CANSLIM candidates better or faster.
