Hi Robin, Sometimes what is considered to be a "cup with handle" vs. a "flat base" is simply the amount of correction the stock makes from the high to the low in the base. In this case, it corrected more than 20%, so the "dip" to the low makes it a "cup". I've uploaded an annotated chart so you can see the "long skinny cup with handle" with more detail at: http://WallStreet-LLC.com/canslim/QSII121202.JPG Katherine - -----Original Message----- From: owner-canslim@lists.xmission.com [mailto:owner-canslim@lists.xmission.com]On Behalf Of Robin Gridley Sent: Thursday, December 12, 2002 6:06 PM To: CANSLIM Subject: [CANSLIM] Not seeing it Okay... this seems to happen to me somewhat frequently with IBD. I'm looking at Investor's Corner for today at the chart and discussion of QSII. I'm sorry, but what they're calling a "cup" I would never have identified as one. looks like a flat, sideways moving base to me... If I really try and find a Cw/H, I'd guess it starts in January, the cup ends in May, and then drifts mostly sideways for many months before breaking out. I do see what they're calling the handle at 1, with corresponding volume... but cup directly preceding it? Is my chart reading that bad or do I just need not receive the free special glasses with my subscription?
