Hi, Welcome to the group,
Although I have been part of the group for almost two years, I still =
feel like a newcomer. There's so much to learn! Katherine M., a frequent =
and helpful contributor to the group, recommended the following book to =
me:
Stan Weinstein's Secrets of Profiting in Bull and Bear Markets
It's not CANSLIM specifically, but helped me to understand the rationale =
behind CANSLIM better. I still use CANSLIM for my buy and sell rules, =
though.
I also recommend paper trading for awhile, though some say that you only =
REALLY learn by doing!

Hello Everyone,
I am reading Bill O'Neals book for the second time and have just =
become an IBD subscriber. I'm very happy to have found the CANSLIM =
list! I'm very new to investing (have not even made my first trade yet) =
but I am eager to get started. I only have about 5k to trade with. My =
question is should I be trading at all at this point? O'Neal advises to =
wait out a bear market (this is a bear market isn't it?). If I do =
trade, how many stocks should I concentrate on and how much of my equity =
should I invest in it? I plan to use the free stock screener at Multex =
to build a watch list meeting the CANSLIM criteria, then to research the =
fundamentals on those and study their charts. Can anyone recommend a =
good book on reading charts? Thanks in advance for you help!
