I agree with Jeff's reply, I guessed the notice I got (same as jans) was
related to the new software, and just emailed Jeff directly about it. I =
had
already seen my post show up in the usual quick fashion, so knew it was =
not
being held.
Besides, as Ed says, it's Jeff's list, and his choice and decision on
switching. It's not up to a majority vote, those that don't like it =
don't
have to continue. And his ability to monitor, control even when =
necessary,
has not only helped snuff out the few flames we have had over the years, =
but
also makes it possible for this to remain an unmoderated board.

I think first and foremost we all need to remember that this is Jeff's
world: his list, not ours. We have the privilege to add our thoughts
and comments here because Jeff allows it. If Jeff wanted to "screen"
responses, it would be his prerogative.
This is a classic case of an individual overreacting prior to getting
all the facts: A bad habit good traders/investors should stay away
from. I applaud Jeff in his efforts and again, if it wasn't for him, we
all would be just reading IBD at face value. (Ooh - that sent shivers
down my spine). So, thank you Jeff!

Hi Jans,
Hold your horses there partner! ;-) It isn't what you think...
;-)
What I've done is subscribe the new list-server's email address to the
old canslim's distribution list. I did this so that current messages
will distribute through the new list-serve. Currently, I'm the only one
that is subscribed to the new list-server, everybody else is still
subscribed to the old list-server and the server is still working as it
always has. You and all other subscribers do not need to do anything
differently at this point.
The message you received that your posting is awaiting approval is the
new list-serve telling you that your posting is being held for approval
(the old list-server had already sent out your message). Other people
who have posted in the last 24-48 hours have seen the same thing. I've
subsequently turned the notification message off to help allivate the
confusion.
Two things to keep in mind regarding your posting:
1) It was delivered immediatly to everybody via the old list-server and
was not held up in any way to the group.
2) The old list-server delivered a copy of your message to the new
list-server. I'm currently the only one subscribed to the new
list-server. However, the new list-server didn't recognize you has a
current member (because you aren't subscribed to the new list-server
yet) and held up your message to be approved. It then sent you a
message saying your posting was being held for approval.
I don't know if this helped explain things or if it confused you more.
Regardless, just keep these things in mind:
1) The same old canslim list-server is still in place and will be until
I indicate otherwise.
2) I won't make the transition unless or until:
a) I'm confident that the new list-server will give us equal or better
service.
b) The transition can be done in a smooth manner.
3) I will continue experiementing in ways that will not disrupt the
operations of the old list-server, but in ways that may raise questions
or cause confusion from time to time. You're not the only person to be
confused by my experimentation.
4) I may conclude in the end to not make the switch. However, at this
point I am leaning to making the switch.
5) Once I'm satisfied the move will be good, I'll throw the switch and
we'll all move over to the new list-server en-mass. I won't do this
without letting everyone know a date and a time well ahead of time.
Regards,
Jeff - canslim admin/owner

Why is my post being upheld for so long? It is now nearly 5 PM,=20

didn't=20
know that the CANSLIM forum is a "restricted=20

"...being=20

sounds like=20
something a CENSOR would love. Every time I
write in
>the =

to the CANSLIM forum, am I now going to have to go through=20
a

>gatekeeper?
>
> If this =

I
don't
>like=20
it. As a matter of fact, if I had known this could be=20
the
possible
>fallout, I wouldn't have agreed so readily to the =
new=20
ISP.
>
> I liked the free =

ideas in the CANSLIM forum, but
I'm not
>sure that I'll like =
this new=20
wrinkle (as a matter of fact, I'm pretty
certain
>that I =
won't): =20
It's like asking my parents for the keys to the =

Jans,

Hold=20
your horses there partner! ;-) It =
isn't what=20
you think...
;-)

What I've done is subscribe the new =
list-server's=20
email address to the
old canslim's distribution list. I did =
this so=20
that current messages
will distribute through the new =
list-serve. =20
Currently, I'm the only one

that is subscribed to the new =
list-server,=20
everybody else is still
subscribed to the old list-server and the =
server is=20
still working as it
always has. You and all other subscribers =
do not=20
need to do anything
differently at this point.

The message you =
received that your posting is awaiting approval is the
new list-serve =
telling=20
you that your posting is being held for approval
(the old list-server =
had=20
already sent out your message). Other people
who have posted in =
the=20
last 24-48 hours have seen the same thing. I've
subsequently =
turned the=20
notification message off to help allivate the
confusion.

Two =
things to=20
keep in mind regarding your posting:

1) It was delivered =
immediatly to=20
everybody via the old list-server and
was not held up in any way to =
the=20
group.

2) The old list-server delivered a copy of your message to =
the=20
new
list-server. I'm currently the only one subscribed to the=20
new
list-server. However, the new list-server didn't recognize =
you has=20
a
current member (because you aren't subscribed to the new=20
list-server
yet) and held up your message to be approved. It =
then sent=20
you a
message saying your posting was being held for =
approval.

I don't=20
know if this helped explain things or if it confused you =
more.
Regardless,=20
just keep these things in mind:

1) The same old canslim =
list-server is=20
still in place and will be until
I indicate otherwise.

2) I =
won't make=20
the transition unless or until:

a) I'm confident that the =
new=20
list-server will give us equal or better

service.

=
b) The=20
transition can be done in a smooth manner.

3) I will continue=20
experiementing in ways that will not disrupt the
operations of the =
old=20
list-server, but in ways that may raise questions
or cause confusion =
from=20
time to time. You're not the only person to be
confused by my=20
experimentation.

4) I may conclude in the end to not make the=20
switch. However, at this
point I am leaning to making the=20
switch.

5) Once I'm satisfied the move will be good, I'll throw =
the=20
switch and
we'll all move over to the new list-server =
en-mass. I=20
won't do this
without letting everyone know a date and a time well =
ahead of=20
time.

Regards,

Jeff - canslim=20
