Duane,
Same situation for NSCN today - earnings came out after the close. 
NSCN was up $1.15 during the trading day.  Earnings were announced
after hours, $0.18 per share diluted vs -$0.03 per share same quarter
last year.  Sales went from $36 to $64 million.  The stock dropped
more than $4 after hours.

The only explanations for this situation that I am aware of is that
some were expecting better results and those expectations had been
built into the stock price.  Or perhaps there is something else in
the earnings announcement that stated a lowering of expectations for
a future period.
