RE: [CANSLIM] market correction bottom?Hi Alan,

See also our List FAQ where this and other abbreviations used frequently here on
the list are defined:
http://WallStreet-LLC.com/canslim/CANSLIMFAQ.zip Within the FAQ, you'll also see
a provided link for a more in depth description of the FTD.

See also www.investors.com where you can read about it from the source.

FTD = Follow Through Day = at least one major index up 2% or more on volume
higher than the previous day, 4-7 days (sometimes 10) after the start of an
attempted rally.

WON says all rallies start with a FTD but not all FTDs lead to a new rally.
So a FTD day soon might mark the end of this correction (the word 'might' is
important).

FTDs did seem to nicely mark the beginning of recent runs in Oct 02 and Mar
03.

What does FTD stand for? and how is it a positive signal for the end of the
correction?

Yesterdy's Big Picture (IBD) mentioned Thursday as the first day to look for
a FTD, which would be a positive signal for the end of our correction. OK,
fine, but I couldn't figure out why Thursday.

On my count, the DOW (intraday low 8997) and SP500 (intraday low 961)started
up August 6 and they haven't violated those intraday lows, so this is
already Day 5 for those indices. The NASD started up Monday August 11
(intraday low 1647) so Thursday would only be Day 3 (less than the
    recommended Day 4-7).

I'm just curious if I'm counting correctly, and/or if I am more confused or
they are (ah yes, leaving myself wide open, but resist the temptation).

     Rolf
