Scott: Shell's card is OK. You get rebates in Shell gasoline. The rebate used to max out at $70 per year but I believe it may be higher now. I personally prefer the Private Issue card issued by Discover. The rebate is up to 2% of the amount charged (not sure what the max is - there didn't use to be one, but now one has been implemented). I find that PI is accepted pretty much everywhere I want to use it and the cash is more welcome than the gasoline. It got to the point where I found myself paying a premium just to use my Shell rebates when I could have saved money at a competing gas station. You may want to check out the web site: Credit Card Goodies at http://www.ece.gatech.edu/users/flur/. You'll find more information than you ever thought existed on affinity cards there. Discover pays up to 1%. I plan to charge about $7000 next year, so much of an annual fee will wipe out the rebate benefit. I've heard that Shell Gasoline has a good card. Anyone know? Scott - - - -
