I converted my Rollover IRA to a Roth IRA a few months ago as I figured if I changed my mind before 12-31 I could change it back. Now I'm evaluating my options and would appreciate any explanations or advice. If I recharacterize it back and forth (round trip) before 12-31 to lower the amount I'll have to pay tax on over 4 years, can I recharacterize it again (either one way or round trip) before 4-15? If so, with the round trip option, would I still be able to divide the taxable income over 4 years? Or would I at least be able to lower the taxable amount if my investment lost value between 12-31 and 4-15? Or if I don't do anything to it before 12-31, what would my options be before 4-15 and how would they affect the taxable amount and the divisibility of the income over 4 years? I know that's a lot of options. But I'd appreciate any clarification I can get. Thanks. Allan Spring ___________________________________________ Simplify your holiday shopping...
