BUT--- bear in mind that the only one who is being impressed by the card is YOU. It's simply been around too long, seen too much "image" competition from "gold" cards, "platinum", and now - would you believe - "titanium" cards. I'm waiting for the "plutonium" card. But seriously, IMHO, the big "impresser" these days is cash. Real honest-to-goodness crispy green, ugly new 20, 50 and 100 dollar bills. When you pull a few of those out of your pocket (money-clip) or purse, people notice. In part because cash is a rare and unusual item, but also because the new bills are so notable, i.e. - easily noticed. Next time you take the client to lunch lay a new $100. bill on the little dish along with the check. Maybe a 50 would be better. Anyway, that's a real eyebrow raiser. Particularly if you leave a generous cash tip. Any schnook can get a credit card. Ask AmEx. Keep your receipts and tabulate them under QUICKEN or 123. Personally I use a gold card from the local credit union, great rates, web access it see current and historic status - everything - pay my balances via the web, good "CWD," travel insurance, and they double the length of a warranty up to one year (great for Notebooks that get hard use) and it is building up some kind of bonus points. I think I have enough now to get a 50 inch TV for free. Anyway, enjoy that "power-lunch", however you choose to pay for it. Sincerely Howard <hic@mediaone.net> - -
