I'm thinking of taking out a home equity loan to pay off credit cards and pay off the loan I took out against my retirement account. I have alot of equity in my condo...when I bought the place 5 years ago...I put 25% down.. and real estate values have been climbing rapidly the last couple of years. Any reason this could be a bad idea? It would mean lower monthly payments and the ability to do a few home improvement repairs....(of course...I would be paying more in interest in the long run) Thanks, Liz H. lizh@channel1.com - -
