Kristina, >I have a small "side" business of tech writing and web design >and I've been getting these "pre-approved" solicitations for an >American Express Corporate Card. Another factor in favor of MC/VISA is that, whenever I have called my credit card company for information on a recent purchase, MC/VISA could usually give me all of the activity on the account except the last few days. For AMEX, they always said that they couldn't access any information until the end of the month. I don't know if this is still the case now. I think that large businesses use AMEX because it ISN'T a credit card, and this allows them to avoid the problems that would arise from employees not paying their bills in full and running up interest expenses. For a small business, if you are resposnible and you are the ONLY person using it, then there isn't any problem. However, if you have even one employee, however well trusted, you may want to do things differently. -David dmartin@hc.ti.com - -
