Jeff,
If enhanced functionality and richness is something the group desires, why
not move the entire list to the FREE Egroups.com (now Yahoogroups.com) where
there is a wide array of group hosting features. Group members can self-set
their settings to their liking (every message, daily summary, daily digest,
or web only). The features include an area to post files, set up databases,
poll members, etc. you can even keep the current list configured as it is
and use yahoogroups "remote group" feature to enhance the existing
listserve.
I remember enjoying this group many years ago and hope it picks back up but,
for me, I don't want to monkey with individual messages or set up filters.
