Hello again everyone!
This is Ira Krakow (ikrakow_1999@yahoo.com). I'd like to announce major
changes in persfin.
First, I'm back! Jeff has asked me to resume the editorship of persfin,
and I've accepted. I'd like to thank Jeff for maintaining the list for the
past 3 years. We have the nucleus for a great mailing list and are
positioned for renewing activity on the list.
Second, persfin is moving! The new headquarters are at Yahoo-Groups,
which has excellent features for Web-based group communication, such as:
- User customizable settings (emails, digest, etc.)
- Chat room
- File uploads and downloads
- Calendar
- Polls (we can have surveys, asking questions like
"Do you think the bear market is over?")
- Posting of messages by Web and by email
and (for me) many features that ease the moderator function.
You can join immediately by going to:
http://groups.yahoo.com
You will need to get a Yahoo ID (it's free). Once you do that, you will see
a "Search" box. Type in persfin and press ENTER. You can join at that
point, which will allow you to post, chat, customize, upload, download, etc.
I am going to send an email inviting all current subscribers
of this list to join. To join, you simply reply to the email I send.
For those without Web access, it is also possible to post and get emails
by email, as with the current persfin. Use the following emails:
Post message: persfin@yahoogroups.com
Subscribe: persfin-subscribe@yahoogroups.com
Unsubscribe: persfin-unsubscribe@yahoogroups.com
So, see you all on Yahoo Groups! Watch for the invite email. Please be
patient with me on any transition issues, and feel free to email me
(ikrakow_1999@yahoo.com) with any questions or concerns.
I'm excited to be back and look forward to welcoming all of you.
Sincerely,
Ira Krakow
