Nealy 1/2 of my total retirement savings is now in my former employer's 401k plan. I'm 55 an laid off, workikng part time as a self employed consultant. I feel that my former firm's 401k plan is poorly managed with very high expenses, and I'm sure I could get a better deal elsewhere in a rollover. However, I am concerned that I will then forfeit my current right to withdraw funds (55 and terminated. Any comments or suggestions. Hopefully, I'll be able to ern enough consulting to have no need of the funds til 59.5; but ya never kknow!
