The tyranist's thoughts
Now this is the kind of low-budget gore fest that made me love Peter Jackson's
movies in the first place. There weren't a lot of them before he catapulted into the
public eye with that little trilogy he made, but they are quality.
Members of a mysterious government organization are in a small town in the
countryside trying to isolate a group of humans exhibiting unusually aggressive
behaviors. Well, there is much death, but eventually, they figure out that the
aggressive humans are really aliens here to harvest us for food. The grand battle
ensues.
There are places where the low budget and length of time it took to film this show
themselves, but it is still a gore-fest that is top notch. You shouldn't expect much in
the way of a plot. What little there is exists primarily to get us to places where there
can be more gore. The aliens are grotesque and the humans aren't much less so.
If you like the improvisation and kitchen pantry effects of low-budget horror, this is
near the top of the class. It isn't The Evil Dead
but it is probably the next best thing to it.
If you are a Peter Jackson fan, and a horror fan, check this out. Unless you have a
weak stomach. Then you might not like it much.
