The tyranist's thoughts
I'm as big a fan of the T&A slasher as, well, anyone. Most movies that fall into
this little sub-genre don't take themselves too seriously and realize that they'll never
be terrifying while they try so hard to be titillating. Unfortunately, Tim Kincaid didn't
seem to really realize this.
So a bunch of virgins are being raped and brutally maimed by someone or something.
In step a detective and a doctor (who happens to be a virgin, of course). What they
find is . . . oh, I won't lie to you . . . stupid.
The opening credits are immediately followed by an extended scene of a naked girl
stretching. Why she is streching, we'll never know, but she's naked and apparently
that is what we are supposed to pay attention to. I didn't expect much of a story, but
the fact that they seem to abandon it at will hurts. The script is pretty abominable
with every knew situation playing out exactly the same way the last one did. The acting
was bad too, but then, you'd expect it to be. You'll probably notice that it earned all
of the "bad" skulls. It's just that kind of movie.
I was so bored by the movie that I found myself trying to guess the exact shape of the
swim suit each actress had worn to get those incredibly pronounced tan lines. It wasn't
hard to guess, but it did pass the time. Much as the characters did. If someone else
was being attacked, everyone pretty much stood around watching.
This is one that I was eager to see for reasons that I don't understand now, but I
would recommend you stay away. In fact, while I really didn't like the other movie
called Breeders, you should probably
see it rather than this one.
