The tyranist's thoughts
This is a classically abused horror sub-genre and probably justifiably so. I mean, by definition, the big bug monster movie is a B-movie.
Still every once in a while they are a lot of fun to watch and laugh at and this one is a better than average example. There is actually
some though evident behind the plot and the characters aren't completely despicable (even though I wanted Joan Collins character dead from
the first minute of the film on).
Radioactive waste is being dumped in the ocean and a barrel coincidentally washes up on shore in Florida. I say coincidentally, because this
shore happens to belong to Joan Collins and she is just about to try selling it to a bunch of losers. Well, all hell breaks loose because
the waste mutates a bunch of ants to be human size. I won't tell you more because it would ruin the plot, which is actually decent.
In spite of the fact that this is B grade all the way, it is fun to watch and would be a good party movie. I wouldn't see it alone if you
can avoid it simply because it will bore you to the point of falling asleep.
