Rish Outfield's reviews
Sure, it was cliched and predictable, but this "Friday" had something the
others lacked: interesting stuff going on in between slaughters. Crispin
Glover was more likable than a half-dozen babes as a sexually neurotic teen--
pity Jason isn't more discriminating in who he picks off. This was definitely
more well-thought-out than most in the series, and it COULD have been the last
installment, had it not made a buttload of money. Tom Savini was brought back
for this one--good news splatter fans!--and that also helped. A lot of the
situations were pretty retarded, the acting was still shaky, and there was of
course, the token unnecessary nudity, but I figure, you already knew it would
be there going in. The ending IS cool, and Corey Feldman was actually pretty
convincing--I keep forgetting he had talent...once.
Best Scare: I don't know, but Jason saws open this guy's throat in the opening
sequence then turns his head all the way around, and that was pretty shocking.
I'd Recommend It To: Slasher and/or George McFly fans.
The tyranist's thoughts
Much better than 3. Much better. It appears that they went the opposite way of three and spent all of
their money on a script and actors this time instead of on the camera. The story is still the same
but at least this time we like the characters and the introduction of a Jason-hunter is cool. This one
is definitely as good as 1 & 2 and in parts may be better.
