Rish Outfield's reviews
Okay, let me say first, that this is the dirtiest film we have reviewed for
this site. Also, it was very, very stupid. These things are beyond question.
The thing is: is it horror? Hopefully for you, you'll never have to answer
that question. We see this stuff so you don't have to, folks. It's like the
description of the (Garage Sale Roy Rogers) Wagon Wheel Coffee Table in When
Harry Met Sally..., it's so awful, I don't know how to begin to say how awful
it is. And I don't know how to review it, either. Hopefully, Tyranist was
more eloquent. I will mention two things, though: Huntress was like an
adult film with a supernatural element or two thrown in (two?) to try and
‘legitimize' it. Didn't work. And: The ending royally sucked. I haven't
seen a less satisfying ending since I was a boy and tried to tape Diamonds
Are Forever on our brand new VCR (since my bedtime was 8:30) and the tape ran
out ten minutes before it ended.
Best Scare: My latent childhood fear that my mom would walk in while I was watching it.
I'd Recommend It To: I wouldn't, actually. I'd just pretend I never saw it.
The tyranist's thoughts
In spite of a fantastic idea, this movie was very poorly done. They took an idea that could have easily been a very creepy
little nice-English-town-but-there's-a-curse movie and porned it up to the point that it is almost hard to watch (and I
didn't mean that kind of hard. Pervert!). The only thing that you can count on in this movie is nudity. It happens like
clockwork. Unfortunately, nothing else seems to matter to these people. The production values were fairly high, but lacked
immensely in one important place: the transformation. You see, the main character is supposed to be periodically transforming
into a beast (a black panther specifically). Whenever this transformation is supposed to be happening, she gets down on all
fours and quivers a little. There is then a cut to a shot of her face where we can see that she has black eyes (I will admit
that this little detail was ultra-cool. She reminded me of the dead chick in Event Horizon). That is it. Sometimes
they then do a little close to the ground, very quick moving, camera is killer thing to make us think she is the panther, but
it never works. Even suspending disbelief is hard after the first couple times. Oh, and folks, they actually state that she
is supposed to be literally turning into a panther.
I guess when it comes down to it, if you are looking for a little horror/soft-core porn mix that isn't scary in the least,
this film won't disappoint. Otherwise, steer clear.
