The tyranist's thoughts
Lovingly made crap. It was obvious throughout that they thought they were making
a fine movie and that they cared about the end result. Unfortunatly, crap lovingly made
is still crap.
There's this fireman, who happens to be a lush, who is having difficulties with the
demands of the job and whose wife is having difficulties with him. So he heads out to
the woods with the fire chief for a little hunting expedition where they inexplicably
decide to exhume a grave. Well, it ain't pretty, the thing they find and soon the maiming
begins.
This looked pretty low-budget, but it had at least a few skilled people behind it. Maybe
that's just modern film technique improving though because there was obviously very
little skill assembled for the acting or script-writing. The premise was pretty good until
they tried to explain the monster, at which point I uttered a few "what the hell"s and
fell completely out of the movie.
This was bad, folks. There I was settled down for a quiet Sunday night watching a
new horror movie and what did I get for my time. Nothing. The movie left me
completely empty. I could have got more out of Zsa Zsa Gabor's autobiography.
I don't recommend this one at all and I actually feel kind of bad about that. They really
wanted to make a good movie and just plain failed. I wonder what went wrong. Were
they limited in some way that prevented them from achieving their potential, or are
they just incapable?
