       Rosemary's Baby

Rish Outfield's reviews
I think tyranist and I have another disagreement here. Yes, it moved awfully slow, and yes, to the MTV Generation, it was awfully long. But there was something going on there, something powerful and profound, and something that only terrifies as much as you give yourself to it. The film was creepy, well-done, interesting, and believable. Yes, it's dated, but only in colours and fashion, not in feeling. During very few movies have I so wanted good to triumph over evil, only to see good brought to its knees. Unfortunately, I've known the ending since I was a child, but I'd love to have seen it without ever knowing. Mia Farrow's performance was really unusual--but compelling and very moving. I really felt for her. I suppose I'm biased...my mother's name is Rosemary.
Best Scare: His "father's eyes." And when Rosemary realises what the threat is.
I'd Recommend It To: The patient ones. For they shall be rewarded.

The tyranist's thoughts
Another classic of the genre. Unfortunately, I think that it is completely ruined when you know the ending ahead of time. There is no suspense and no concern for the characters when you know how it ends. I could barely sit still sometimes. The really regrettable thing is that I don't think I know any horror fan that doesn't know how this ends.
