Rish Outfield's reviews
If this isn't the worst summer camp horror film ever, they surely show the
winner in Hell. Jeez, this makes Friday the 13th look like Wuthering
Heights! Sick! Sick! Sick! The dialogue, acting, writing, and direction
were a step below abominable, and the only character I found likable, we were
supposed to hate. At least there was a lot of cursing. The fade-outs,
nauseatingly melodramatic music, and the overall feel reminded me of an after
school special. Directed by Clive Barker, maybe. Boy, this was sick. There
was one cute (albeit sick) prank they showed (which I will describe for you so
you don't have to ever see this film): a blindfolded kid is lying on the
floor, being told that through mental control, he won't be able to do a situp.
On the count of three, he is to try, and when he does, another kid has pulled
his pants down and placed his buttocks in the path of the hapless boy's face.
Definitely the highpoint of the sick film. Still, this is, by no means, a
favourable review of this...'film.' It was disquieting to watch, and I
developed a terrible headache during its viewing (this may have had nothing to
do with "Sleepaway Camp," but I choose to believe that it did). Afterward, I
think everyone felt a little bit dirty about watching it.
Best Scare: Well, the final shocking ‘revelation' was pretty, well, shocking. Did I mention sick?
I'd Recommend This To: The very sickest of souls. With the exception of you fine folks.
The tyranist's thoughts
This movie was bad beyond belief. It was obviously pitched as Carrie meets Friday
the 13th and was leagues worse than both of those films. I repeatedly wondered if I could endure
another second. There is a sort of cool surprise twist at the end that I did not see coming at all,
but nothing is really worth putting up with that much bad acting and writing.
