The tyranist's thoughts
I am so far out of the demographic for this movie that I wasn't sure I should really
review it. On top of that, when I did finally decide to watch it, I found that it was
barely horror. Sure it has a bunch of Skulls, but there is so little to frighten. That may
be as much because I'm not in the demographic as anything. Even so, horror is horror
is horror and this movie lacked some essential things. Still, Rish gave me this copy
of Uninvited Guest quite a while ago and if I don't review it no one will.
Gah. What I won't do for you?
Okay, so this guy neglects his wife (who is very hot indeed) on their anniversary by
bringing home a couple buddies to help him work on a screenplay that they are writing
together. Incidentally, what little we hear of the screenplay sounds like porn and also
sounds much better than this movie. Of course, Uninvited Guest plows on
when a gigolo/escaped convict shows up at the house with a truly lame-ass reason:
he needs to use a phone.
I recognized Kim Fields and Mekhi Phifer. Some of you may recognize others. I
didn't really care for the script and the twisty-turny end just didn't satisfy as parts of
it made no sense and the other parts were sort of predictable. Add to that the fact
that there are like 8 characters in the entire movie (two of whom die within seconds
of appearing on screen) and what we have is a mess.
This isn't one I cared for and while I've seen much worse, I doubt I'll ever feel
inclined to pop this one into the VCR again. Much less try to convince Rish that he
really should have watched it before handing it over to me. You're on your own here.
