The tyranist's thoughts
Sometimes I wonder why I bother to watch these movies. I have no doubt that writing this review would be the same whether I had just the title in front of me or I had spent the hour and a half necessary to see the whole thing. But then I feel that way about most of this little sub-genre, soft core horror.
So there's some unexplained death and the cops can't figure it out. Finally one of them notices the very prominent pentagram and they decide to call in a specialist on the occult. Will Spanner. Yes, the same Will Spanner. After a long segment where they interview a bunch of quacks, the main villain walks in. I know it, you'll know it, and Will Spanner knows it. But the cops don't believe him. Then there's some sex. And then some more sex. And then some more sex. Eventually the moronic ending comes around and (I'll spoil it for you here) everything works out for the best. Unless, of course, you are the viewer.
With the standard low-budget, terrible acting, horrible script, and complete devotion only to the sex scenes, this entry in the "Witchcraft" series is pretty much normal. You know what you're getting when you pick one of these up off the shelf, but still, I'd like to see, just once, an entry in the series that at least had enough self-respect to warrant serious treatment. That would be against the trend of the sub-genre, but please, can't someone come along to make that one legendary soft core horror flick?
Well, you'll probably see this for the same reasons that most people will. If you're into this genre much, then chances are that you've seen them all and will do so again. For anyone who hasn't and is the least bit curious, I say stay away. Even T&A slashers are a cut above.
