Directions to Install Personal Ancestral File 5.2 from the enclosed loaner CD:

1. Put the disc in your compact disc (CD) drive.
2. Click Start
3. Select Run
4. Type d:\setup.exe
(if necessary, replace the letter d with the
letter assigned to your CD drive).
5. Follow the instructions on the screen.

It will automatically place a PAF5 icon on your desktop.

Now follow the directions below to put your family's information from the enclosed floppy disk into the PAF 5.2 program which you just installed on your computer hard drive:

Put your 3 ½  floppy disk into the “A” drive on your computer.
Double click the PAF5 icon on your desktop.
A language choice screen will come up.  Choose “English”
A welcome screen might come up next with several choices, such as new, open, etc.  Choose “Cancel”.
Next will appear a blank screen with a tool bar of choices across the top.
Choose “file” in the upper left-hand corner.
A drop-down menu will show many choices.  Click on “Restore”
A screen will come up that wants to know “where to restore it from”
Point it to the “A” drive (up in the location box)
The your file name will appear, such as “westra5.zip”  Double click on that name
Or single click on name and click on “restore”  (works either way)
Your family file should appear!!
