Version 0.06 Jan. 11, 1999 For limited help send E-Mail to kohlwey@xmission.com The beta copy of the Win32 MFC program that I use to create the grid square maps is now available. I run it under Windows 95 and Windows NT Version 4.0. Some notes on what you will find in the wingrid.zip file. The map is a vector map. You can zoom in and out in the program. wingrid.exe is the windows program. usa_map.dat is the USA only map outline data file. This map file will be used if the WinGridMap.dat file is not found. wingrid.txt is an example input file that is described below. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- For detailed map of all of North America you can download the wingridmap.dat file. This file is over 3 Meg and will!! slow down the loading and redisplay of the WinGrid program. To use it put it in the same directory the wingrid.exe it in. WinGridMap.dat is a detailed map of North America -------------------------------------------------------------------------- The "view" pull down menu has the following "Checkable" options. QSO From Toggles the display of the red dots or square for the 6 character grid squares worked from QSO To Toggles the display of the red dots or square for the 6 character grid squares worked. Grid Toggles the display of the grid square lines. Labels Toggles the display of the grid square labels. Lower 48 Toggles the display the lower 48 states grid squares. RVUCC only Toggles the display of the "Reverse VUCC" grid squares. These are the grids I have worked from. VUCC only Toggles the display of the VUCC grid squares. N. America Set QSO From, QSO to, Grid, Labeles, Lower 48 off and VUCC on. The map displays from AG39 to HQ60 Control W will also exeute this option. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- The program uses lines that start with: gH followed by a space and then the 6 character home grid square. gF followed by a space and then the 6 character grid square that I have worked from. gT followed by a space and then the 6 character grid square that I have worked. GF followed by a space and then the 4 character grid square I have worked from. If it is followed by an "*" it is not confirmed yet. GS followed by a space and then the 4 character grid square I have worked. If it is followed by an "*" it is not confirmed yet. GU followed by a space and then the 4 character USA 48 States grid square. If it is followed by an "!" I have worked from that grid square. If it is followed by an "*" it is not confirmed yet. So in the following file I have worked from CM89xs and CM94hq, I have confirmed a QSO from CM87 and DL80, I have worked CM88 and CM89. When I get a card for CM89 the GU CM89!* will be changed to GU CM89 -----------------------------wingrid.txt--------------------------------- gH(home grid square) gH DN40er gF(subgrids worked from) gF CM89xa gF CM94hq gT(subgrids worked to) gt CM87xv GS(VUCC grid squares) GS CM87 GS CM88* GS CM89* GS DL80 GU(US grid squares) GU CM87 GU CM88* GU CM89!* GU CM94!
