Who
The UILC Summer Program provides Life Skills training for youth with disabilities in our Community.
The program is for Disabled Youth between the ages of 14 and 22.
What
The program meets three times a week from mid-June to the first week in August.
We provide training in the areas of:
- transportation- riding the bus and Trax systems
- managing money
- dating and sexuality
- cooking
- shopping
Monday: we go out into the community use the UTA and enjoy a social activity.
Wednesday: we provide classes on Life Skills.
Friday: cook in a group setting, learning new skills. We also travel to the store using UTA and shop for the groceries we will need.
There is an overnight camp out during the last week.
