This Indenture made and entered into this 4th day of June in the year 1833 between Margaret Vanmetre of Ohio County and State of Virginia of the one part and Joseph Whitnah of Livingston County and State of New York of the other part. Witnesseth that the said Margaret Vanmetre for and in consideration of the sum of one hundred and fifty dollars to her in hand paid at and before the sealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath granted, bargained and sold and forever quit claim to the said Joseph and his heirs and assigns forever all her right, title, interest, claim or demand in Berkeley County and State of Virginia being the same tract of land which Henry Whitenah of said last mentioned County died seized. As one of whom heirs at law the said Margaret hereby releases all her claim to the said tract of land. To have and to hold all her the said Margarets claim or right of every description of in and to the said land to him the said Joseph Whitenah and his heirs and assigns forever. And the said Margaret for herself and her heirs doth covenant to and with the said Joseph and his heirs and assigns that she will forever warrant and defend her interest in the said tract of land free and clear of all claim or claims to the same arising by through or under her or her heirs. In testimony whereof she the said Margaret hath hereunto set her hand and affixed her seal the day and year first above written.

Ohio County to wit
--We Absalom Ridgely and John Brady Justices of the peace in the County aforesaid in the State of Virginia do hereby certify that Margaret Vanmetre a party to a certain deed bearing date on the 4th day of Jun 1833 and hereto ann?? personally appeared before us in our County aforesaid and acknowledged the same to be her act and deed and desired us to certify the said acknowledgement to the Clerk of the County Court of Berkeley in order that the said deed may be recorded Given under our hands and seals this 4th day of June 1833.
