Dates we were there: 7/11/99
7/12/99
Because of our delay in New Jersey, we were a full day later arriving than
planned. We went right to Ron & Jean's. The next day we drove to Concord
and Belmont. We originally planned on going to Boston but decided to skip it and
make up the time we lost with Ron & Jean instead.
Cities &
Places we visited
PELHAM
Because of our delay in New
Jersey, we were a full day later arriving than planned. We went right to Ron
& Jean's and spent a quiet evening relaxing at their home. This was something we
had been looking forward to and we were not disappointed. We had a wonderful dinner
and Jordan found the Legos. That kept him entertained the rest of the night!
The next day we again mostly relaxed and did our laundry. After
lunch, Ron took Joseph to the bus station (he decided to go home) while the rest of us
headed to Concord and Belmont.
We returned that evening and had a very enjoyable barbecue dinner out
in the yard. It was so relaxing we wished we could have stayed longer. Their
yard is surrounded by trees and we enjoyed hearing and watching the birds that visited the
bird feeders. Unfortunately, our hotel reservations in Lebanon, New Hampshire were already paid for
so we decided we better get there. We stayed as long as we could and left late that
night.
CONCORD
We visited Concord mostly to visit the Louisa May Alcott Historic
Home. Becky and the girls have read and enjoyed her book "Little Women"
and this is where it took place. Unfortunately, we arrived just after it had closed
for tours but the gift shop was still open. After this, we visited and old cemetery
and picked up a few souvenirs. We then drove to Belmont.
BELMONT
In Belmont, we wanted to see the Boston Temple which is still
under construction. We were able to see it just off the highway but we
couldn't seem to find the road to it. We drove around for quite some time but never
were able to find it. We settled for stopping by the highway and taking
pictures. Not what we had hoped but at least we saw it. It is going to
be a rather large temple!
We then headed back to Pelham.
