    DETROIT
    Getting to Terrell & Becca's home in Plymouth, just outside of Detroit, was no easy task, thanks to us missing the freeway exit we were supposed to take.   I thought road construction in Salt Lake was bad!  As soon as we realized that we had missed the exit, a new route to their house was planned.  That was thwarted by a detour.  Again, another route was planned.  Thwarted again!  After the THIRD detour, we were lost!  Thank goodness for cell phones.  A quick phone call to Sweat's and we were back on track.  A couple of hours and a tour of Detroit's construction sites later, we arrived VERY late at their home.
    We stayed up even later just talking.  We really wished we had been able to get there sooner and that Terrell could have been there.  He was off with his Scouts in Kentucky somewhere.
    The next morning, we had a great breakfast and the kids enjoyed some time playing together.  But we needed to get on our way and they had a t-ball game to get to so after a short but enjoyable visit, we were off for Chicago.
    But again we were welcomed by Detroit's construction.  With a light rain falling (thank goodness, otherwise the heat would have been unbearable), it took us about an hour to go 1 mile heading west out of the city!  And that did not include the residual delays that accompany this kind of thing.  Oh well, we were getting used to delays by now!
