Dates we were there:    7/13/99

    Vermont was the birthplace of the first two prophets of this dispensation, Joseph Smith and Brigham Young.  One of the most beautiful states we visited, Vermont provided some wonderful scenery, especially along the Connecticut River.  We also made and unscheduled stop at a roadside market and picked up some Vermont maple syrup!  mmmmmm!  Brian ended up being the only one that liked it so he got to use all of it himself!

Cities & Places we visited

    SHARON
    The birthplace of the prophet of the restoration, Sharon is a beautiful little town in central Vermont.  The property the church owns is one of the most beautiful places we visited.  Surrounded by trees, the lush green countryside is a peaceful place.  There is a visitors' center and a  monument commemorating this as the birthplace of Joseph Smith.

    WITTINGHAM
    Wittingham, Vermont is a quiet little town in southern Vermont.   There is a monument in the city park which commemorates this as the birthplace of Brigham Young.  There is also a marker along side the road marking the spot where Brigham Young's home was at the time of his birth.
