Emeritus Professor Ernest Ritson Dewsnup. Chaddock Professor of Commerce at Liverpool University from 1919 to 1939, has died at his home, Heybridge House, Burton, Wirral, age 77.

He was an expert in railway administration and economics, and held professorships at the Universities of Chicago and Illinois from 1904, until he accepted the Liverpool chair. For a short time during, and after, the 1914-1918 war he was statistical and finance officer of the Department of Military Movement at the War Office.
