Arrived in good shape. The required parts shot:

What a cool engine!

Eye-balled cooling fin attachment - used a few drops of Super glue to tack on, then fillets of Wood glue:

Turned coupler (part J) into a home made baffle using scrap pieces of balsa. Glued (2) 1/8" thick halves together for each moon and end pieces. Smeared a bit of Super glue on bottom piece to thrwart heat. Again, tacked on with Super glue, then Wood.

Used a metal straight edge and Wood glue for wings

Lookin' good! Added a (too?) big eye bolt for Kevlar attachment point.

Rolling the main tube on center island. Using STOCK elastic cord! GASP!! (about 42" long?) Found a locking swival too.

Test cuts with scissors deemed worthy - use 'em!

Turned out good! Would cut tubes this way again.

I decided to paint as much as I can before assembly. I'm using the paint scheme from another Interceptor! :P
MFP Interceptor
Deep Blue, Apple Red, Sun Yellow (trying the 'Paint and Primer' - will it save weight?):

Sun Yellow is bright!

Using white 'Paint Pen' for stripes on the edge.

Scraped off any paint needed for glueing

Almost assembled

Kevlar loop tied to swival and elastic cord

Decals on. Pretty nice/strong set of decals. I like how they look w this paint scheme.

292 grams finished (no chute or engine). Includes 3 coats of Minwax Polycrylic clear gloss.
Bought new digital scale (CJ600). Now I can measure down to .1 grams! Rocket weight exactly 292.5 grams!
