24mm engine mount w 500# Kevlar attached. CA was be smeared on knot and frays.
2+ times the body length of 3/8 " braided elastic:
Good 'ol Elmers glue all used (almost) exclusivly!
Launch lugs getting a glue fillet.
Nose cone sanded down to/with 800 grit sand paper.
The fins were well rounded, then coated w 3 THICK coats of Rust-o-leum auto filler primer per side.
They were sanded down to 1000 grit! They were smoother then both my babies butt!
Highly technical tools used to align fins. Rubber band used to tweak the front end direction a tad.
Double glue joints used w Elmers.
2 coats of Rust-o-leum 2X paint + primer Solar Yellow, ran out, then 2 coats of Krylon Gloss Sun Yellow #51806.
Added 2 extra decals for a total of 4! 172.3 grams before clear coat.
3 coats of Minwax Polyurethane clear semi-gloss. 175.2 grams (6.18 oz) finished.
I do not see/feel any difference between the Polyurethane and the Polycrylic Minwax proctective sprays?
