Just to provide some background for the above, here is Grandpa Parley R.'s short description of his career:

“After graduation, was employed by the Bureau of Reclamation as an engineer for 37 years on the following projects:

Investigation of Moon Lake Dam, Duchesne County
Utah Construction of Echo Dam on the Weber River, Summit County
Weber-Provo Diversion Canal, Weber River to Provo River
Pineview Dam Ogden River
Schofield Dam, Price River
Deer Creek Power Plant, Provo River
Buford Trenton Project, pumping plant and irrigation system on the Yellow-stone River, Glendive, Montana
Williston Project -Pumping plant and irrigation system on the Missouri River, North Dakota.
Investigation of Colorado River Project - Utah, Wyoming, Colorado, Arizona, and California.
Directed the development of the Central Utah Project for 17 years.

Retired in 1964, and with sons, continued engineering practice as consultant.”
