Rish Outfield's reviews
Incident on and off a Mountain Road. That's a long title, man.
I've never been a Don Coscarelli fan (though Bubba Ho-Tep is quite good), but I found this to be very well done. Very good, I'd say, but it didn't reach the great heights of Cigarette Burns, but then, that episode was better than most movies I pay seven dollars to see.
Based on a Joe Lansdale story, Incident tells of a young woman who, alone in the woods, is stalked by the sickest of serial killers. But due to earlier experiences with the outdoors and violence, she isn't quite as helpless as she might otherwise be.
Bree Turner is quite attractive, and seems to be a capable actress too. It was strange to see Ethan Embry, so bald and so fat, in a less-than-heroic role. What I liked most about the film was Angus Scrimm as an insane old man, gibbering and laughing when he isn't delivering exposition.
There were a lot of interesting shots, such as the iconic "leap in front of the moon" they show on all the promos. There was a nice reveal at the end, both visually and story-wise.
