Kakwa Community in the United Stated is a social and cultural organization based in Salt Lake City with members accross the country. The Kakwa Community in the United States was formed by the Kakwa people from Yei Southern Sudan who where resettled in the USA starting from 1995 with the majority living in Salt Lake City, Minneapolis, Seatlle and other cities.

We first started showing our beatiful culture in 1999 by performing our Kakwa dance in Weber state University (Ogden, Utah). It was then followed by series of dances in Boise State University (Boise, Idaho), and several dances in the Salt Lake Valley following an article published by the Salt Lake Tribune.

The Kakwa community in the United States is also linked to other Kakwa communities world wide, through the Kakwa discussion forum. Everyone interested in promoting culture and want to joing our communiy is welcome.

Our members annually donate $240.00 each to YEDA.
