Doubled rubber rings is usually an indication of a problem--either design
(rare), too small a ball, or too old rings. On machines that were designed
for double rings sometimes special posts that accommodate the extra ring are
present, or the documentation specifies the extra ring. Most doubled rings
are evidence that someone didn't have or didn't want to use new rings.
