If your Williams EM chimes sound clunky because the dark foam rubber has
decayed and fallen off, you can easily replace them using 5/16" old rubber
rings. If you're in the midst of re-rubbering the machine, this is perfect
timing. This is recycling old rubbers for yet another use. Be sure
to place beneath and one above the tone bar on each end to completely
isolate the bar. If the fit is too tight, chances are that you've still got
some decayed rubber or a plastic washer in the way. Just toss them. You
won't need them anymore.
