Another solution for temporary fuses for debugging is to build a
fuse/breaker. Go to Radio Shack or other electronics store and pick up a
mini breaker, 5 or 10 amp, or whatever rating you need. Solder the
connections to a spent fuse. Be sure that you connect the two in such a way
that the breaker is just on one side, parallel to the fuse so that the
fuse/breaker can be easily inserted and removed from a typical fuse holder
without problem.
Note that the mini breakers have a voltage rating, usually around 30-50
volts. You will not be able to use a mini breaker on circuits where
the voltage is higher than the breaker's rating.
