If you have a Williams chime solenoid plunger that is missing the nylon
shaft, you can replace it using an inexpensive BIC "round stic" pen.
Cut off about 1" or so from the back end of the pen. I cut these using wire
cutters. Pop the colored end cap off and hammer the tube into the solenoid
plunger. Then replace the cap. Pounding it in with the end cap on will
smash the end cap. Now you're done!
