Coils can be modified in several ways to provide a stronger or weaker coil
as needed. For more strength, remove no more than 20% of the turns, or
substitute a coil with a smaller gauge or less turns. For a weaker coil,
add a resistor in series, which weakens by reducing the voltage, or
substitute a coil with a larger gauge or more turns.
When substituting a coil, you can usually be safe to substitute within 2
gauge sizes, and 10-20% on the number of turns.
