A bucket of sand can be very useful. I use it for holding plastic objects
while they dry, so that gravity can hold the parts together. The sand can
also work as a heat-sink to cool down a hot soldering iron. I sometimes use
popcorn or beans instead of sand, but never as a heat sink!
