A dim lamp is usually caused one or more of the following:
A loose socket
Dirty or corroded socket
Dirty or corroded lamp
Loose connection at base of socket
Bad connector elsewhere on the machine
Incorrect lamp type--this happens more often that you think!
You can usually quickly check the socket by twisting the bulb back and
forth, or by pressing the bulb against the back of the socket and see if it
is any brighter.
