Removing printed circuit board components can be tedious and if done
incorrectly can damage the board traces. Many components such as
transistors can be easily clipped off and then the holes and leads cleaned
out with a desoldering braid. Sometimes the components are spaced so
tightly that you cannot clip the leads. An easy way to remove these is just
to bend the component back and forth a few times until it breaks off. Then
you can clean up as usual.
